2016 Festival Press Release

2016 Ulster County Italian Festival

The Ulster County Italian American Foundation is presenting the 9th Annual Italian Festival on the Kingston Waterfront Sunday October 9th 11am-7pm.  At this free admission Festival, there will be a large variety of Italian foods, beverages, products, music and family fun! The Foundation is a 501c(3) not for profit organization whose mission is to promote, preserve and celebrate the Italian heritage and culture in Ulster County and beyond.

At the Opening Ceremony the Italian American Foundation will recognize the Italian Signora and Signore of the Year given to recipients based on their community service and selfless volunteering to assist those in need throughout the Ulster County Region. This year we honor Emanuele Savona and Jeanette Provenzano.  Also, the reigning Miss Italy NY will be present to meet and greet festival goers.

The proceeds from the Italian American Festival will be used to establish the UCIAF Education Award Funds for graduating Italian American High School seniors throughout Ulster County who exemplify the values and vision of the Foundation in their community.

Please bring your friends and family to this fun filled day and enjoy the culture of the Italian American people. Bring your cooler bags to bring home some great food items and your shopping bags for all other gifts and ingredients from our 35 plus vendors. We will have a Children’s’ Tent near the Rip Van Winkle with fun educational activities and face painting.

Last year the vote decided the question SAUCE or GRAVY. The votes were counted and the winner was SAUCE with 172 votes, Gravy had 122 votes and 14 blank ballots were cast.

The 2016 Ballot is set to answer another difficult decision as we pit Ulster County resident Robert De Niro against Manhattan resident Al Pacino as your favorite Italian American actor..

Voting will be done at the information tent at the intersection of Broadway and West Strand. We invite both candidates to personally appear and vote.
